Welcome to the re-imagined Russel Codes Blog. I am Russel, a developer with almost three decades of experience in SQL and web application development. My first experience with SQL was when I was handed a Microsoft Back Office box full of floppy disks and told to install both SQL Server and Exchange. It was an interesting experience for a young developer, seeing the administration of the tools I use regularly. Now I am the application database administrator for one of the largest, specialty electrical contractor in the United States.
My plan for this blog is to use my experience as an enterprise SQL developer to pass along the lessons I have learned. I will cover enterprise level SQL development, data modeling, reports, and other topics. The posts will cover problems I have encountered, tricks I have learned, and examples of code I have used. Don’t expect me to cover the latest version of SQL Server or data science.
There will be a new post weekly, on Wednesdays. The current plan is to publish at 6:00 am Central. Most posts will be targeted towards junior developers, but all levels of developers will find useful information. I want my experience to help everyone improve. I don’t want this to be a brag board aimed at my peers.
Please come back and follow along. I’ll see you next week.
Russel, still coding.
